You might get slapped for "exposing" the illusion however I must agree, it was VERY poorly executed this trick. I watched it and just laughed. It makes me laugh harder that this trick could actually fool the spectators. Although saying that, they probably werent looking for trap doors or anything and they probably assumed the 2 holding the big sheet were "random spectators".

Does this make people feel better about themselves? Cosmic - do you feel like you've accomplished something here, beyond just blatantly exposing a method on the forums?

I would like to make a humble request of you, Cosmic. I'd like you to post a video on these forums of a trick you perform (or perhaps, if you have it, a trick you have invented - it makes it far more personal and special to just you). Then, allow me to slow it down frame by frame, take screen shots, and expose your methods for all to see. Would that be fun?

Cosmic was only only doing his job. As a magic audience you should be skeptical. As a magician you shouldn't get caught.

It's not his job to expose methods. It's no one's job to expose methods. What you personally think of a particular illusionist doesn't enter into it either. Sorry, but Thou Shalt Not Expose is the magician's first commandment.

If you guys had seen this as a video, you would totally agree that its popping right into your eye.I guess everyone who has seen this on TV could say how criss had done this trick. My posting didnt belong to EXPOSE this trick at all,it´s just to show you how lazy the second season of Mindfreak has been produced.A simple post processing trick as blurring this spot would be enough to cover it.I guess it worked very well on the live performance, every men´s eyes were looking at the hot babe and draws attention away from it.

humble greetings
Jerry

but then if they blurred out the spot in post production it would add to the claims that mindfreak is edited heavily.

Maybe criss angel is attempting to move away from editing and therefore series one made you think he could do more impossible tricks than he actually could due to heavy editing and since he's not using that in the new series it might disappoint some people.

As said before the audience (and me) missed the trapdoor because we were misdirected by criss angel and the woman appearing out of nowhere

As was, I'm sure, cosmic until he, or someone else went back and looked at them again.

He's not moving away from heavy editing because there was no heavy editing in the first place (If you feel the need to keep this up, I ask again for probably the 100th time - please produce indisputable evidence). As far as quality of the season being poor - I find it amazing that all comments to this opinion come from people who are examining screen caps and frame-by-frame video.

If I could do the same to any magician in the world, I'm pretty sure I could figure that out, too. Bear that in mind next time you feel the need to post this drivel.

I caught that trick the second I saw it. I noticed the girl twisting to leave too soon. Right before Criss went infront of the camera I saw the girl turn to leave. And then the shadown was such a dead give away. Too bad they didnt think of that before time.

I just watched Criss' cigarette routine again and wondered why he sticks the cigarette up his nose before putting it out

More to the point, thou shalt not use TM to expose especially as one of the tenets of the forum is to not publicly expose methods. In addition, it would be good to see evidence that you had proper written permission from the production company to copy and publish those images but just in case you don’t, they have been removed. Can we now concentrate on constructive rather than destructive discussions please?

I’ve not seen the offending clip, but surely this whole argument is about who comprises the target audience of the routine. Clearly, in a television show of any description, the target audience is made up of television viewers, not the people present at the event itself.

In this regard, the use of stooges is, in itself, perfectly acceptable. The deception is simply aimed at the target audience.

However, much of the joy of watching such a show lies in seeing the live audience’s reaction, and believing that these effects are being performed in ‘real world’ situations. So I don’t really know what to think….
Criss Angel is a magician….
Criss Angel has tried to deceive us….
Magicians get paid to deceive people….
Using stooges is too simple a way of deceiving people….
Most illusions are really simple once you know the secret….

Oh well, I think that the jury will have to stay out on this one.

For the rest of us, let’s just keep it live!
