Connoisseur Special

Three cards are displayed, (say an Ace between two Black 5's). First the Ace turns face down. Next a 5 is sandwiched face up between the two other cards and changes into the Ace. One card is tabled, as the magician says he is cheating and using an extra card. When asked for the color of the 5's the spectator replies, red. But the 5's are now black with a face down card between them. This is turned face up and it's a red 5! The tabled card is turned face up and it's a red 5. The four cards are shown front and back and the Ace has vanished. The Ace is reproduced from the magician's pocket! (No palming).

Difficulty 3

A small movement is required, but I figured it out in about 10 mins....and immediately began performing it. And an elmsly count does help as a convincer......but not totally necassary.

If not for the elmsly, I would say it is a 1 1/2 or 2 in diffictulty!

(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)


Review

I found this trick to be a pleasure to perform, and all my specs have loved the effect as a whole. I vary slightly from the routine included, and have added my style.....made it into a "the hand is quicker than the eye" type of routine" Once the spec thinks they have it figured, you hit them with another suprise. It is easy to perform, and with a little work after, you can "clean youself up" and begin to use the deck for a normal routine....free of gaffs, gimmicks, and the spec can then also inspect the deck.


Overall

Overall, I would recommend it do anyone, begginer or advanced card handler.....it is easy to perform, simple in its working, yet stunning in its presentation! It is a great value!!!!!!!!

Where can you buy this? It sounds good but is there a demo vid of this. I like to purchase all my card effects after a viewing of the trick. This is because sometimes the description is a bit embellished. Your review of this card effect, though, sounds like it might be worth looking into.

I bought mine at a shop in Calgary (Canada) after I watched the shop staff perform it for me first. I am not sure if you will find a demo video of it around or not. I will try to find one and send you a link......htis is the address of the shop I bought it from. If I had a camera available, I would post myself performing it, and you would get to see it that way.

Two things........first, it is not immedietly examinable, but you can clean yourelf up really quickly, and then the deck becomes examinable. Secondly, I find the effect to be stunning enough that no one has asked my to examine the cards........I think a good elmsly makes in very convincing!
