Hi everyone,
I am new to the world of magic and this forum. This may be a naive question. I saw a street magician performing in Covent Garden. One routine interested me.

The magician picked three cards face down on the table and asked a spectator to chose a number between 20 to 30. After the number is revealed, the magician turned the cards over, and the sum of the values equals to the number.

I really want to learn that but I don't even know the name of that trick. Is this the basic routine to mentalism? Or is this the trick I can buy? Where do I start?

I don't know the name of it, but I sure would like to! There are quite a few mentalists on these forums, so I'm sure someone can help.
