Impossible Twist

Postby SirRawlins » Oct 12th, '05, 20:08

I believe this routine was first performed by Zenneth King of Keighley, correct me if I'm wrong, i have been looking round at what see to be gimmicked versions of it, is there an in promptu version available?

Does anybody have a review of this trick, i couldnt find one on the search.

No the one that rune did was the asher twist .. This is impossible twist, its even more impressive in my opinion, not that the one rune did diddnt knock my socks off ... i like it alot, i just hate working with gaff decks, if there is a slightly more impromtu version i would love it, even i had to use stick tape or somthing.

Rawlins - if you're a fan of the Impossible Twist, check out Oz's Stealing Pips dvd. He has two effects that use the twist move (Twist and Shake and Lord of the Twist) - both are, I think, improvements upon the original effect.

Personally, I don't care for the original. It has a nice finish, but I don't like how in the middle of the routine you have to shift the cards to perform the final turnover. To me, that makes the effect highly suspicious. If the first three just needed a shake, why do the cards need to be reorganized to pull of the fourth?

That's the biggest problem I have with the effect. Granted, the switch to the four aces makes most people forget that discrepancy, but there are better methods to achieve the same (examinable) outcome.

The twist move itself is pretty cool, and very convincing. Check out Oz's dvd for the variations, you would like it.

Thats fab dimitri .. i will have a look at those DVD's ... i concur on the descrepency in the middle, if do the first shift and then move that to the end it looks a little better, i have seen it done a few different ways.

Have you performed this trick yourself? .. is there a gimmick involved or is it done with a standard deck? and is it examinable?

Cheers,

Rob

That would be great nathan ... i always feel that watching lots of different performances of a trick always benefits your final performance .. you learn from other people little mistakes.

Good to be back now the problems are resolved. I hope you and nobody else takes offence at my slightly strange sense of humour. I see things in my own way but mean no harm, just affection. I've spent too long in the theatre to take life seriously. If you feel you have been abused, then please abuse me back! Please! ... Oh Please!

Beautiful Avatar. Facial fuzz though .. it's so 80's!

Much love. Kryzal x
