AAAAAARRRGGG!!!!!!
The exams are getting closer and closer.
It's a funny thing, but if you're dreading something and would do anything to slow down the time, it has a disobliging habit of speading up!

And the older you get, the faster the time shoots past!

Hope the Mocks go well for you :D .

Thanks, I don't really know what I'm worried about seen as I've already done two GCSE's a year early and now I'm starting AS level this year instead of the next.

My mocks are at the end of January. Time seems to be flying. I'm really not looking forward to them!

If you approach these things the same way as magic, you won't go far wrong. Do as much preparation and research (studying/revising) as you can then work on the presentation (completing the exam) in the most efficient and encompassing manner. And above all, relax - exams are important but life consists of many other things as well so keep it all in proportion!

On the other hand, you could approach them with supreme confidence, do no revision and sail through without a problem! That way you will be able to calibrate how much work you need to do to get the grade you want in the real thing.

That's what I'm doing at the moment. I start out with good intentions, but just end up staring at a book, not taking anything in.

It wasnt so long ago that i sat my mochs .... i found that they were alot worse than the real things .... the real GCSE's were a breeze ... just play it as a cucumber bud ... you'll be fine ... i sat my AS's early too .... it was pretty hard work at the same time as GCSE's but its was more an issue of time rather the complexity of the course,

Good luck with it atall ... what courses are you taking?

Can I ask a stupid question?

What are Mocks? I know they are an exam but I have never heard of them becuase I live in Scotland, and we get Standard grades in 4th year and Highers in 5th year and Advanced Highers in 6th year.

Most of you won't even know what the heck I am talking about!!!

Mocks are a practice run (mock exam) for the GCSE and A-level exams.

Well, the system is different in Ireland. I'm in sixth year now, which is my final year of school. You must take a minimum of 6 subjects(I'm doing 8 ).
You can take each subject at either Higher or Ordinary level. Entry to college or university is based on a points system. If you get an A1 grade in a subject at Higher level, you get 100 points, A2=90 points, B1=85 points etc.
Points are calculated taking your best 6 subjects,so there is a bit of flexibility.
I'm doing: English, Irish, Maths(all three are compulsory), Physics, Chemistry, German, Geography and Applied Maths, all Higher level.

Yep Diftz ... you take your mocks in Year 5 and then the real exams in Year 6.

The papers they use for the mocks are last years real exam papers.

The way we do it is that we do our mocks in January/February of sixth year, and then the real thing in June. Our mocks are totally new exams made out especially for the mocks. It's a bit different to the UK.

Ace of kev, I'd imagine mocks are about the same as our prelims. Saddly, my prelim's seemed to have not helped me too much with my appeals for my higher exams, athough my C in philosophy is now a B, my C in latin remains a C. Am rather annoyed with myself as I got As in the prelims for both subjects so I could've done so much better. However, I've still got good enough grades for uni. Good luck to everyone in their exams and hopefully, you'll do better with studying than I did. I made tonnes of exam revision plans last year but stuck to none of them. If you can get into the habit of setting aside time for revision and sticking to it, you'll be well on your way. As for the reading a book and not taking anything in, you might want to try a different approach. Mind mapping was something my teachers always suggested (it never quite agreed with me due to my messy writing that left the whole thing looking rather tangled).
