First Vid : Revolution (maybe)

Postby SpineyNorman » Oct 26th, '05, 23:14

Hi, Well, it's been a while since I've posted on these forums but I like it here so thought I'd post a video to see what you make of it :)
It's me performing what I think to be "Revolution" which is available from ellusionist though I sort of made this up when messing around so it might not be quite the same.
The intros a bit fancy since I was bored but rest assured theres no editing on the trick itself :)
Heres a link to the video.
Your feedback is much appreciated as is any suggestion for patter since I'm a bit lost for an explanation as to "why!?".
Thanks for looking.
Hope you enjoy it.

Nice job.

This doesn't have to do with the actual effect, but what were you doing in your pocket for that long? Was the coin running away from you?? Just kidding: ON TO THE EFFECT!

Technique was good, you pulled it off, well. I don't think you should linger too long before you pull your hand and do the finish of the vanish.

Personally, I just never liked this effect. I bought it, I learned it...and I just don't think it's right for me. Don't get me wrong, you could easily convince MANY spectators with this, but the entire effect seems incredibly unnatural to me.

Barring my own personal problems with this effect, you did a great job with it. As I said, less lingering might make it seem more effective, but probably not that much. Great job.

Patter isn't a big thing for this particular variation. The vanish from the back of the hand to inside of the fist works with patter, talking about heat and melting the coin with body heat to travel through your skin. However, just the vanish is powerful enough, it doesn't really require patter.

Nicely presented and very good.

I did like the trick at first but I don't like these kinda one-off tricks anymore.

You take too long finding the coin in the pocket. I think that you could prepare it a little better for the video. I know it wouldn't matter too much in real life but just for presentation purposes on video, I think you shouldn't spend too much time finding the coin.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies. I guess I do take a while finding the coin and I'm not entirely sure why. Part of it has to do with those pockets being a bit small I'm sure... but oh well. Like you say, hopefully in real life people wouldn't bother so much. :)
Thanks again!

Thanks for your comment. It's nice to have the confidence from them all!
The song is called "Lua". It's from the album "I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning" by Bright Eyes. I'd definately recommend it if you liked the song! :)
