You know, the most versatile deck invented...

The one you can do more than a thousand tricks with...

Fully examinable...

Easy to use...

A regular deck! ;)

Apart from that, think about whether you really need another gaff deck...

Sponge Balls are great, especially when you have a good solid routine - there are loads out there.

I always think that magic that you can carry around with you is good - I have 'Keyed Up' by Anthony Miller, for example, and thought about putting a key effect on it - two in one and doesn't take up much space. Cards are good, very versatile, learn some good coin magic (Modern Coin Magic by Bobo is a good starting point) and you can do magic with borrowed items or things you have in your pocket. It's really a question of what sort of magic you want to perform.

Cups and Balls - a life time of magical fun to be had there.

A book - why not buy a book? I suggest Strong Magic by Darwin Ortiz, there is some fantastic stuff in there :) .

All the best,

Yep, much fun to be had with the cups and balls - and go for new routines, not the standard instructions! A good set's quite expensive though, around £30, and can be a bit hard to carry around. Jay Sankey has a solution - his Magus Capsule available from MT. Although it too is around £30...still, Cups and Balls, worth looking in to (especially if you can't work out what your drink is...hmm...   )

Loads of books have original routines for 'em as well.

In my opinion the ID is the most valuable, as it gives a magician the ability to try many tricks in which there is a chance for error. It can be a great trick on its own, or act as a safety net.

I like the ID.

I agree with the ones here whome stated that you just need regular decks. If you think about it, you can spend $10 on a deck that will do a couple of things, or you can spend $10 on the royal road to card magic and do many many more tricks iwth any deck anyone hands you. I can do more impressive stunts with a regular deck than any gaff I have found. But part of the effect comes in borrowing a deck when possible. Or atleast, having a deck th
