Salut! from Brighton

Postby EternalYang » Nov 1st, '05, 15:38

Hi guys - thought I'd break the monotony of "Hello's" on the forum list by saying it in French. I've somewhat tarnished my originality by explaining myself. I apologise.

I'm 31, live in Brighton and I've not had a drink in six mon- oops wrong forum.

Seriously though, I've been into NLP and Hypnosis for about 5 years and I've been doing card magic for about 8 months - I've just started trying tricks on people outside of my friends/family and aside from a bizarre shaking setting in afterwards it's gone well. I think the shaking was due to doing my first Classic Pass and not being caught, despite feeling like I was manipulating a pair of bricks.

I've been a victim of C.U.P.S all of my life and in all of my hobbies, so imagine my delight when I found out just how much stuff there is to buy in magic. Purchasing is enhanced by the immense array of stuff available online - I think I already have more books on card magic than I have time to read.

Even more amusing is that I do most of my card magic holding the cards in my right hand, so some of the descriptions are great fun to reverse -"Move left ring finger to left inner edge.... so that's my right ring finger to right inner edge...oh ffs nothing works...". On the plus side I get to see what a proper magician looks like whenever I do tricks in the mirror ;)

Anyway - pleased to have found this place, hope to get to know you all better.

Paul
