Styles of Street Magic

Postby Kemo » Nov 6th, '05, 18:58

I was told by some one that the style of street magic I do is hit and run(do one trick and then just walk away). I was wondering what other styles there are for street magic.

i dunno street magic is a broad topic

you can count three card monte and the three shell game as street magic, and thats a different style. that would be more gambler 'skills' than magic

The two foremost styles are:

- Hit and Run: Walk up to a total stranger and show them a quick trick or two. This is the style popularised by David Blaine, Paul Zenon and more recently Criss Angel. Ideally funded by a multi-million dollar television network.

- Traditional Street Magic: Setting up a pitch and gathering a crowd and then passing the hat around your audience for tips, to live off.

All the best,

I much prefer the old fashioned set up a pitch busking magic. There's a few great guys out there. My absolute fave is Gazzo

I'm also more of a traditionalist when it comes to street.
