Triumph

The Effect

A magician has a spectator select a card, have it returned to the deck. he shows its not on top, or on bottom, but lost somewhere in the middle. he then takes the deck and splits it in half, he then mixes face up, into face down and shows they are all in a messed up order, he then makes a magical movement and spreads the cards, all the cards have righted themselves all apart from the selected one!

Cost

Free (normal deck of cards used)

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)
3/4

Just to add to that, assuming you're OK in dealing with this supplier, the link is http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=794, it's an Instant Download and costs $12.95.

7-8 quid to learn ONE trick! That is expensive - even for Penguin.

Triumph is a classic of magic and in loads of magic books in different variations I'm sure.

OR spend 20-25 quid and a get a DVD full of tricks!

There certainly are cheaper ways to get good versions of Triumph, in fact the version I still use came from a book I got in Jarrolds for a tenner, it also contained "7's up" that I still use and a number of others that I probably will use sometime.

I Agree with this, emerge is a much much stronger efect, but it is not impromtpu, not unless it yhe first trick you do and you have just opened a brand new deck of bikes, even then people will be sus.
Hope this review is ok

But then you can do Emerge Triumphant as a standard Triumph without the kicker ending - that's just a bonus of the handling.

Another use suggested (I think) in the PM forums is that if you have a stacked deck you can use Emerge Triumphant as the deck will remain in the same order. It also gives a very fair sense of shuffling if you leave out the kicker.

Of course, the problem is that the full-deck shuffle is rather hard to learn. Still, it's a worthwhile investment being able to do that as it lets you add a lot in the way of convincers to tricks. Also, I find that the bridge at the end of the shuffle makes it looks especially convincing, something you can't do with the likes of the Zarrow shuffle.
