Meece. Definitely meece.

PS You might want to check out the earlier thread on these items ( http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic1358.p ... ght=dlites ) as there are some ideas in there as well.

try this

Postby jared_magic » Feb 7th, '06, 00:54

i use this to start a d'lite part of my show sometimes. I'll say there has been a problem with my eyes lately and that my blue eyes have been growing lighter and lighter and then started to et overall brighter(no rhyme intended, sorry) and i reach up and start to rub them and then act as if you notice something. Then pretend like you "pull" some shimmer right out of your eye and place with it then "toss" it back in at the end

Here something just for fun...

Get a D-Lite and something electrical (a socket?) and put your thumb over it. Say to the specs "I just learnt a trick with the... *Produce light* ARGHHHHHHHH" lol. Gets a good laugh

me

Postby callmecg » Mar 7th, '06, 08:31

Before I lost mine I would do this. Before I left the pub I would walk up to neon light sign and look at it with puzzled look on my face.Knowing people were looking at me wondering what this drunk was doing I would then take a piece of the light out and stare at with the same puzzled look on my face. I then put it back into the neon light and casually walk out as if nothing ever happened. lol,you could feel the mouths drop and the strange looks as you stubmled out.

This way I didn't people hounding me to do it again or to show them how I did it.

Hi, I just got my d'lites (red) today. Thay are strong glowing and the TT fits good, but i must admit altho i read all the posts about them im still a bit worrid about how dim the lights need to be so you wont show the TT. Even tho I know the moves not to show the 'edge' *hope this is not to much of a give away but since thay are more of an novelty then an acculy trick im hoping its allright.

Anyways to the point. It seems that the pressure that i need to apply to the gimmic have to ether be very strong or far down un the underside of it, as i was expecting the pressure to be set on the tip of the gimmic. When its lit the light is well visible. Im just wondering if its supposed to be like this or the trigger should be more sensetiv?

They're all different, so they just need a bit of playing with to get used to yours. Once you're happy, always load them in the same place. They seem like c*** (not the best) when you get the packet open, but stand in front of a mirror and do a quick bit of business and you start to play around. Speed is the key to the TT, but beyond that, people only really register the fact that there's an independent light floating about. Personally, I'd like to see a version whose gimmick included something a little more pressure sensitive.

Has anyone else found that they are really fragile? I just broke my second pair after not a week of usage :(.

First the light refused to come on when I tried to activate it (must have been something with the circuit not connecting) and then the activator actually broke off.

Are you guys buying 'genuine' DLites?

I've just had a batch of genuine Rocco's delivered, and they are stronger, and better made than any previous versions.

Perhaps theres' some bootlegs flying round?

Well mine are strong and dureble, Just hoped for somthing a bit more pressure sensetive. Thease will realy last me a lifetime. Unless the batteries are c*** or the connetion corode[is this how u spell it]. But i find that unlikly. And thay come with the lifetime garantie.

I've always had the ones with the Rocco packet (he of 80's illusionist hair do). My new red ones (the batteries ran out on the last ones!) have a really nice action to them.

I've only had one failure, which I decided to investigate by disecting the unit. Turns out it was only some pocket fluff. Doh!

Apart from the really cheap quality ones, Marvin's are doing their own version which are more expensive that D'Lites . I've heard of one alledged instance where those were not very good quality but can't confirm it personally. Stick to Rocco's - can't go wrong!

There are many copy d'lites around (you see pairs on auction sites for £6.49). As Seige says the new d'lites are much stronger. Just had 72 arrive in different colours and they are really strong. I think the weak ones are from India.
