I noticed that there is now an area for mentalism in the MO area. Is this supposed to be locked (and if so, how would one get in?) or is it a bug?

The intention is that it's for MO members only but no doubt some tweaking will be required before it's fully functional.

Can you try again please? A bit of tweaking has taken place!

The Mentalism Only area of Talk Magic is reserved for long standing members who have made a solid contribution to Talk Magic, and have also proved an interest in the "Mentalism" genre.

And do you take into account posts from other forums? (such as the magic cafe?)

Just in case Simon can't get in to answer this immediately, the general idea is that entry to any of the Restricted Areas is by invitation only from the Mods and is usually only after a number of useful and contributory posts to topics on TM. Reviews of items/effects also count favourably but in all cases, the Search function needs to be used to make sure the topic/item/point hasn't already been dealt with. Adding to existing threads is as equally valid as starting new ones. We can't take into account any posts on any other discussion forum, only those here on TM. There's a Sticky at the start of TM covering more points in respect of Restricted Area invitations and which covers most of the normal questions in this respect.
