What did you think?
Did you understand it easy?
Did you know how I did it?

Any ideas email me at majuggle@aol.com

A good effect!

All I would say is to improve on the coin vanish. It looked too hurried.

It's a nice effect, but I don't think you can claim that it's your own creation.

It's a very nice effect, but was rushed and therefore looked a bit dodge. There are also some logic issues. Why are you swiping the deck of cards over the coin, unless you're doing something dodgy? That is the first thing a lay person will pick up on.

What I don't understand is the fact that you have a microphone (because I heard all of the peripheral noise) but you haven't bothered to put a script or patter to it. Why?

Like people said, the vanish of the coiin looked very suspect and if you are going to use a false transfer like that, it has to look natural and that includes the way your other hand looks after you've done the transfer.

Record yourself actually putting a coin into your other hand a few times; that's how the false transfer should look. Then watch that back and try to replicate the movements when you're doing a false transfer. This way it will look natural.

May I suggest you get a copy of Bobo's Modern Coin Magic or another basic coin magic publication (DVD, video, book) and look up the French Drop. This move will work nicely in this effect.

Clean up the swipe move, make everything smooth and make your coin vanish natural. Once you've sorted these issues, you'll have a very nice little effect there.

All the best,

Will Wood

I think the general effect is quite good........obviously not something that would fool alot of enthusiests, but a layperson would likely be quite suprised..........as above, find a coin vanish you are more comfortable with, or learn to take your time......you can take advantage of the extended time you take to use some "time misdirection" to help you take the heat of of the card swipe over the coin....patter would be big as well.

Keep polishing it, and you will be just fine with it.........

I like it!

I like it. It is a good effect and will fool most laymen. It is quick, attention grabbing and has a good conculsion. I like the fact that it is very angle proof and so can be done with a small crowd around you, so it is good for pubs/clubs/restaurants.

The coin vanish needs work. The French drop is the best choice if you are standing (as it is very angle proof). If you want something easier, sit at a table and just lap it.
It is always good to have a good patter for a trick, but I don't think that this one really needs it. In fact, I would be inclinded to do it mute and rely on mime to communicate that I want the audience to do (I am assuming you get someone to initial the coin). I do a lot of work in noisy environments and so can not always be heard very well if there are more than 2/3 people. This is a good thick for getting a group's attention, but I wouldn't want to be shouting.

Finally, I would think about getting yourself clean at the end. After the coin drops into the cup, perhaps pick up the pack and put it in your pocket

Well done for putting this together.

A similar effect is included as an extra in the "Marvins Magic" trick "The Great British Coin trick" (er... i brought it for a friend). This was only done with one card and i beleive it was the spectator who taps the card to penetrate the coin into the glass from four they are holding.
