Noise with the bertmen change

Postby Kemo » Nov 26th, '05, 18:13

hey

I am trying to learn the bertman change and at the step where I steal the card in to Ten Kai there is a sound of the cards rubbing together. Does any one really notice this or does any one have any tips on how to ovoid this?

thanks

They won't notice it. Try not to make a very loud noise though. Better safe than sorry!

If you're doing the change slowly, then a noise shouldn't be made. What I think you're doing is hurrying it too much. I've got a video up here somewhere but I didn't make it a thread. I'll change it to a thread and check it out. The Bertram Change is suppose to be smooth and rather slow.

I agree with above.......SLOW DOWN! However, if you are still uncomfortable with the noise, try timing a little patter to it.......maybe "Are you watching closely?" when you feel the noise is coming.

Also, I don't know how you steal the card back into the ten kai palm, but what i do is slide the card downwards below the card, before bringing it out to the side. It seems to have worked for me as no noise is made, yet i do it fast so it looks like i just brushed my hand over it.

I hope I was being clear ;)
