Can you make valid English sentence where the word and appears several times consecutively. In fact 5 times in a row.

this is probably old and I am sure many have seen it already, but I like it.

I'm sure this must go beyond quoting someone with a stutter.
but since I'm a mathematician i'll have to pass (oh, there's a magician joke in there somewhere)

I will - but feel I should give it a bit more time. (and no, there is no stutter)

I can do you one where the same word appears six times in a row - but it's not 'and', sorry. :D

"How's my 'Fish and Chips' sign, mate?"

"It's great but the 'fish' and 'and' and 'and' and 'chips' are just a little bit too close together."

"OK, I'll get on it"

1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 and 8 and ....

the WORDS are consecutive ... the fact that there are numbers in between is a completely different matter ehehe

Is pretty much it. Well done Will.

1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 and 8 and

Very lateral. I like the thinking - a little too devious though.

What I actually had in mind was
"It's great but the space between 'fish' and 'and' and 'and' and 'chips' is not quite big enough."

So Will - are you just damn clever or had you heard it before?

I have a sentance with the same word repeated 11 times! ... just need some good punctuation!

Ann, while Bob had had "had", had had "had had". "Had had" had had a better effect on the teacher.

The version I heard was:
During an English lesson where they were asked to write an essay on their friend's Summer Holidays, two pupils asked their teacher for guidance as they were unable to agree whether the correct past tense usage would be ' Derek had a great holiday' or 'Derek had had a great holiday' One pupil had, 'had', the other had 'had had'. 'Had had', had the teacher's approval.

I wish I could claim that I were a genius, but alas, I have heard it before. It had me for a while until I was told the solution, and I came close to something like Rob's suggestion.
