xpyre - sorry to hear that the RAMA isn't dinging your bell... it's all horses for courses and i know it isn't for everybody...

the thing i WOULD say, is that Henry Evans uses similar techniques for some of his tricks and he demo-ed these to HUNDREDS of magicians at Blackpool a few years back... and he burnt em all! ha!

with some audience handling you can get away with all sorts...

and some of the routines that rama owners have contributed to the rama deck forum (over at www.spocmagic.com) are absolutely killer.

hope you don't consign the deck to the magic drawer straight away!!

wahey!

I've just placed an order for this deck for the simple reason that I don't like card tricks.

People come to expect a magician to do card tricks, but they don't have much appeal to me. So I figure if I'm going to be put on the spot to do a card trick, the spec will be relying on me to have my own deck - so why not make life easy for myself?..

got my deck a few days ago... great stuff! iv done all the tricks explained on the DVD, plus a few that are usable from some other gaffed decks, however, i AM having a bit of trouble with DL's, iv practiced quite a bit trying different methods but i just cant find a convincing DL, that wouldn't either give the DL, or even worse, the gimmick of the deck away!!! any suggestions?

I just received my RaMa deck in the post today! It's pretty damn good! I love the brilliant ingenuity of the deck.

As some other users have pointed out - a disadvantage of the RaMa deck is that it doesn't 'feel' like a normal deck (particularly when riffle shuffling), although spectators will be rather unlikely to notice this as they (unlike magicians) are most likely not used to handling cards on a very regular basis.

The marking system is really good and I think I'll use it on future decks (when my Boris Wild deck becomes worn out anyway)! I'd certainly recommend this deck!

You (collectively) talked me into ordering one. Wow! No regrets. What an ingenious constellation of "special somethings". As was pointed out, each gimmick on its own is standard -- it's the way they're used in combination that brings it all together.

I quickly learned that, although I've been riffle-shuffling cards since the age of about five, my habitual riffle was too sloppy for this deck. I've smartened up my moves since, but this suggests that it might be risky to let spectators shuffle, even if they say they're able to.

Since the official name for the deck is "RaMa" (with a capital M as well as capital R), I'm guessing that stands for a phrase or possibly a name. Anyone know what?

The RaMa forum link is broken I keep getting this message

phpBB : Critical Error

Perhaps Someone on the site can get it up and running again.
