Travelling Coins

Postby rcarlsen » Dec 14th, '05, 09:14

This is my new effect, - Travelling Coins.

This is based on the shadow coins routine, but I have changed part of it, because I didn't like the potential angle problems.

As always, all comments welcome.

Well done Rune, very smooth.

I'm intrigued to what you changed from the original. (I say "original" but I think you reverse engineered this from Mog's clip, didn't you?)

All the best,

Yeah, if you look at mogs version, this is slightly different. It has to do which coins disappairs when, and the movement of coins. The reason for this, is mainly potential angle problems.

Superbly done Rune ... I'm not usualy a fan of Matrix type effect, but after seeing this and Mog's version consider me a convert.

Brilliant visual routine ... big thumbs up from me!

very well done as usual rune but i still prefer the original version. When i posted my attempt there was a camera angle problem (which to be fair i should have rectified before shooting the clip but thats by the by) but the routine itself is sound with no extra movements that dont have meaning but in your version theres no real reason for moving the (bottom right as we see it) coin for the second vanish and why then touch the coin you just moved before causing the other coin you just moved to vanish? In my opinion you were right to change the first vanish but the rest should be left as it was

I agree with Mog, when you touched the coin but didn't move it, I thought that was kind of strange, but it is expertly performed as was Mogs

Yes I agree, but ! - With the correct patter, this is NO problem at all. Maybe, all I need to do, is really adjust the coin a bit, and replace it, as if it was malplaced (this is what I was supposed to do... ). So, together with this and correct patter, noone will ever care about that move...

Two great posts of what appears to be the same routine and I wouldn't have spotted the difference without the explanation above.

I also know what's going on but it's very well performed, as is Mog's.

I agree with you on that Rune, one of the things i sometimes find with the file sharing posts on here is that they can often contain moves that seem to be unnecessary, but with the correct patter they can be worked perfectly into a routine.
