What's this change

Postby Blade Master » Dec 17th, '05, 00:22

Mutilple times during Ellusionist's Gaff Ghost preview, the performer uses a change that happen with a card sticking half way out of the center of the pack. I'm pretty sure I've figured it out, but what is its name.

No idea, but I'm assuming it's got to do with the fact that they are gaff cards?

This is relatively well advertised. I'd say this is pointing out the obvious.

I don't reconize the sleight either but it's just a way of bringing in the gimmicked cards. For example, almost all of the ARMY OF 56 gaff deck relied on an Erdnase change in the demo video. I'm sure that if you don't learn the sleight you will find some other exotic way to use the special gimmicked cards.

From the look of the video I am definately getting this deck. I'm a sucker for marketing.

I'm now working on this sleight as well, so it'll be interesting to see anyone elses results.

Mandrake, the link doesn't work because you left the comma in the url tags.

yeah that was me..sorry for the confusion

Okay this how far I've got with it. Sorry about the quality of the video.
My new PC should arrive tomorrow (pray to the gods of transport).
So it will be hi-res movie magic from here on in.

The full sequence is a little weak, and before anyone pulls me up on
the replacement, yes I know it sucks.
You'll also note a subtle lack of guilt management at one point. :D

The Sleight with No Name.

For those who are working on it, I will not reveal the method but here are two tips.

Firstly the deck has to be a little further back than normal. This maybe because I have short chubby fingers though. You long fingered freaks (with your enormous windows ) should have no trouble. Second, once you've shifted the card out to the side ready for the flip, the pinky (left hand) suddenly becomes quite useful in guiding the correct movement.

it appears that this change may not have a name. So lets just give it one.

How about the "Pocket Change" just for the sake of it.
