Flourishes!

Postby ultimatecreate » Dec 25th, '05, 00:56

Hey all

Firstly, just wanted 2 say merry Xmas, (for exactly 12mins time according 2 my computer just rolling in from the pub) and i hope you all get everything you want :D

On a 'magical' note, theres nothing that impresses me more then a well performed flourish incorporated into tricks, but does anyone know of any good dvds/books that explain the more advanced ones? Many basics are covered in RRTCM etc but i want more advanced flourishes for cards. Also interested in coin flourishes too - practising the gamblers role, have got it ok, but have no idea what to do when it gets to the little finger ie how to take it under/back to the thumb. Any help would be much appreciated

Im off 2 set out some milk, carrots and mince pies. Happy holidays

Alex

Merry Christmas.

If you want just flourishes theres a good DVD called "Showoff with Cards".
Note, there are alot of flourishes here, and obviously you need to be used to learning flourishes from video. In other words, there is no indepth training its a learn by example type approach. Worked for me though.

Good Luck...

I think the general consensus is that that is the worst of the flourish videos available, and plus, it's from Magic Makers.

XB is the best AFAIK.

This title is discussed at length in other threads so I suggest that you search for them rather than everyone keep adding to this one, otherwise I'm sure that this will just turn into a repeat

Okay, I don't have Xtreme Beginners, so I bow to your superior knowledge. As for comments on Showoff, may I refer all others to dat8962 comments in the other thread. Like I said not an indepth training video, but worked for me, and as the quote says, its all been said before.

Advanced flourishes eh? Err... Generation Extreme (Not the best teaching), Dan and Dave's System (Not the best teaching), XB (Best teaching yet!), The Encyclopedia of Playing Card Flourishes.
