Shouldn't there be a sticky with some attention-grabbing subject title reminding people to search for a topic before starting a post?

I only mention it because there have been a lot of posts which have already been done and then we have all these locked topics all over the place.

If I sound grumpy or angry I'm not and I don't mean to cause offence, it's just a good idea to run a search for similar topics.

Ah if only!!!

The Mods and many TM members share your feeling that a Search should be undertaken before asking questions but, sadly, there are many times when it either doesn't happen or the Search isn't wide or specific enough. There are several useful existing Stickies to read - especially the ones about MO access - yet folks don't seem to bother reading them so it's unlikely that another one re Searching would be read much either. The FAQ section at the top of the page covers all sorts of questions and queries but I'd hate to ask how many have actually checked that section out. OK, I'll be honest and admit that until about 2 weeks ago, I hadn't given it more than just a cursory glance but there's a lot of useful stuff in there so it's worth spending time reading through the topics. Thanks for the suggestion anyway and let's hope this thread acts as a bit of a Sticky !

Sometimes i think you may find a thread that already exist but it may be an old one, for eg the one with top 10 favourite magicians may have been on here before but new users may have different opinions of their favourites so therefore will like to re-raise a new thread..

.......... well actually they can update the old one cant they
