Sad news but he's left a superb legacy for us all - I can't think of a more fitting tribute than to preserve and use such gems.

76 years isn't a bad innings, and just look what he's given us in those years.

I, for one, would be quite stuck without Mr Elmsley's insights and inspirations. His name will never fade, and he is truly a magic legend.

Rest in peace, and thanks. Peace be with his family and friends.

Magic is poorer for it. He was a true genius. You never think it will happen to people like that. :(

I'm a little worried since my mentors in magic are all around the same age.
in fact were in the same "gang "as Alex. :)

Yet i never did get to meet our mr Elmsley. One of my biggest regrets. :(

Perhaps we should relate the next competition to his work as a way of paying our respects.

It's taken quite some time to get a decision on the theme of the next competition and, as it was already decided that it wouldn't be cards again, we may have to pass on this opportunity.

This is a great loss; he was a giant in the magic world, probably one of the best known performers and creators - but he will always be remembered. As others have said, he has left a great legacy of brilliant magic which I'm sure many magicians are thankful for.
