Coin Vanish

Is it possible to vanish a borrowed coin is short sleeves with no gimmicks and show both hands empty on both sides (and spread your fingers), then reproduce the coin. All done close up.

If so, where might i learn such a vanish/production?

EDIT: Oops, sorry misread the question ..... Didnt see the word short-sleeved. Original reply removed due to stupidity.

If you want to structure this as a single effect then there are ways that you can achieve it. Some of Greg Wilsons work comes to mind immediately.

You can of course use method cancelling in a multiple phase routine to achieve much the same effect. From memory (and its a little shaky at the moment) you need to look at The Magic Way by Juan Tamariz, for an indepth look at the theory on this.

Correct me if I am wrong

Jay Sankey has a vanish called the messiah vanish. You can do it short-sleeved, both hands shown empty, fingers spread. Not terribly clean, but I think its one of the closest things you'll get to what you've described.

You can find it on Revolutionary coin magic, and Sankeys greatest hits. (maybe elsewhere but Im not sure)

It's possible so that is what the spectators see. I do it all the time.

Totally impromptu and without gimmicks.

Take care, Ian

What about Revolution? I dont own this, but from the look of it you can do it short sleeved.

Also, on How to do Street Magic, there is a very simple table vanish.

I was born with Multiple Personality Disorder. Luckily, they are all me, they just dont always get along...

I do one like this, generally sleevless.
try Michal Ammars intro to coin magic. and learn the spider vanish.
basically a false french drop type of thing

When I got home tonight I immediately got out my copy of Revolutionary Coin Magic.

Ouch (if I can call you that) is absolutely correct, the messiah vanish is something you should look at.

Note, the angles on it are tricky, which is probably why I filed it under forget. Under the right circumstances though, it will look great.
