Kozmo,
weren't you involved in the making of these? Or am I mixing you up with someone else (appologies if I am)

Anyway I have the Magic that can be Performed Anywhere DVD.

I quite like this. I heard that Jim's performances were very smooth and magical, but I wasn't so convinced. There was some flashing in some of the routines (yes this happens but on a DVD surely you just reshoot until you get a good take?!?)

There are 6 routines if I remember correctly
1) loopball (needs a loop ball to be made). This is quite nice and as a visual demonstration. Balls to hat is a good application of this. Also included is the salt from nowhere routine which is very nice. The moves can be combined with a handkerchief ball (see Tarbell) to make a nice silk routine
2)Jim goes on to show a normal ball routine which is ok (flashes mostly occur in this part of the routine)
3) Egg bag a loop egg, egg bag routine. Not for me (can't see the point of it)
4) Devil's Handkerchief. Very nice visual vanish and reappearance of objects (Jim uses Jumbo coins but suggests other things if you pay attention). The handkerchief is not a silk but more like a large serviette (a silk is too translucent).
5)Coins in Handkerchief. Excellent multiple coin vanish and reproduction with a handkerchief. Visual and auditory effect with potential for good audience interaction.
6)Gyspy thread- massive gypsy thread using a special cotton thread (apparently easy to get hold of?!?). Requires a reasonable set up. The clean up isn't very clearly demonstrated on the DVD

There are also a few nice pieces of footage of these classics being performed by the greats (Slydini and Eddie Joseph I believe but that is off the top of my head, may be wrong)

Overall I'd give this a 7/10

Sorry to dash your hopes but advertising is only available by arrangement with the Forum owner.

No problems, checking out is fine by us but several folks have had the idea that they can register then advertise and promote their stuff for free which has lead to friction in the past on more than one occasion. If you check with the Forum owner about commercial advertisng I'm sure he'll be able to arrange something suitable for all concerned. TM is primarily a discussion site and any trading is just done as a convenience for regular members to pass on their surplus items, bearing in mind the exceptions and items which can't be sold here.

All of the Cellini DVDs are terrific, especially if you are a beginning street entertainer. Even if you are an experienced street or festival entertainer, you’ll pick up some good ideas from Jim’s DVDs. Lonnie Chevrie’s DVDs are great also. Everything from Lonnie (and Jim) is practical information for working in “the real world”. Kozmo’s productions are top notch!

Regards,

Gerald
