Actually, does anyone know why top hat types tend to use rabbits and doves rather than other animals? I can only think that they tend to stay where they're put.

being of the generation that lovingly abused animals i can say that doves and rabbits are naturaly quiet and even more so when in a dark place.
doves are especialy good for magical purposes because they sit in a small package and expand when flapping rather like a sponge ball also like a sponge ball there feathers take dyes without harming the feather or bird.
doves are also very hardy and loyal if hand reared and like the parrot family love to perform.
a causionary note animals die and if it happens during a show you'd better have a backup plan or you will be lynched.


i don't condone the use of animals in magic shows today as thers to much abuse of people and animals thease days to prove the point by doing it yourself.

yeah, i think that doves and bunnies are very silent, and they are white, therefore you can see them clearly. poor bunny.
