Daniel Garcia Project vol.3 review

Postby dynamiteassasin » Jan 21st, '06, 06:54

There's been a great BUZZ regarding the 3 dvd set of Daniel Garcia. Reviews were positive and I had to see it for myself.

The contents:

Nacho Momma’s Triumph:
Daniel pointed out that this is a trick for magicians. Indeed it is! I tried it to laymen. Although their reactions were great, magicians react better to it. This is an in the hands triumph were the deck changes its color at the end. VERY NICE!
Requires a 3 second preparation.

Quarters:
A well constructed routine that is very visual. By the demo video I knew all the moves done, however it was nice to hear Daniel's thoughts on this routine. A good IMPROMPTU piece of magic. Highly recommended coin through glass routine.

Windex:
Weakest effect on the disc for me. However, laymen love it. My only gripe is you can do it only once. If you buy the video then you will know what I'm talking about. A cool idea where a window becomes real.

C.A.A.N.:
Any card at any number. What more can you ask for? IMPROMPTU, mind boggling and it doesn't require a full deck.

Joe Blow:
The perfect demostration for Psychokinesis. IMPROMPTU and drop dead easy. Worth the price of the disc. A piece of paper tumbles without explanation. Leaves your audiences gasping for air.

OVERALL: I liked the video. I have been using majority of the routines in it. Production quality is good and the music used ROCKS!

I Highly recommend it. It gets a 9 out of 10 from me.

I have Vol 1 and hopefully I will get the other ones. I really like Daniels mindset, the way he thinks. He has some really innovative stuff.

On the routine "Quarters" you say that it it is a "through the glass" routine.
Is this a drinking glass?
Is it technically difficult?
Or perhaps you can tell me where the demo is located and I can see.
Thanks

I for the most part liked this video except for blow and windex. I thought that he was trying to act like Jay Sankey a little to much. I have all 3 videos and I think that white or wheat was the best effect on all of the videos. I believe you could find it on volume 2

I also thought that Joe Blow was "so so" effect but when I performed it to a friends in a bar they were just left speachless so I realized that it has great potential and that the effect to a layman is just amazing and that's most important.....

my favorite trick is definitly "only four"....but the whole DVD set is just brilliant...did anyone found some bonus tricks BTW...they were supposed to be on vol.2?

Daniel Garcia project vol 2

The "bonus tricks" in Vol 2 are merely slight variations on two of the listed routines. And both are nothing really worth shouting about if ask me. The first one I noticed was an effect called Ham and Cheese which a variation of the plot behind white or wheat. The second "bonus trick" was a card change that could be used with the effect Motion.

The DVD also says there are multi angles. NOT!!!. What you get are two angle's frozen, and no close up's.

While I agree that some of daniel effectts are great - chi, white or wheat, twisted - some leave alot to be desired. And just to add I wouldn't say daniel is a bad teacher, but the stones he leaves unturned, could probably line the bottom of a fish tank!!!

The bonus tricks are explained in the Motion and White or Wheat explanations.
