coin unique

Postby jagsmagic » Jan 25th, '06, 13:29

I have had the coin unique for several years now, and the only thing i can do with this is the old make the penny dissapear and then make the pound go.

I want to add abit more to this, maybe a better patter. Cause when im performing this it makes me sound like "look what i can do, that you cant" and i dont want that

any thought?

I make the penny penetrate a matchbox sometimes but just making the penny disappear under a glass or in your hands is far more effective.

I sometimes combine it with the Raven to make one then the other go.

That's all I do with coin unique

....Oh and I dont think it needs patter.

I say nothing and just point at the coins in my hand. I've never been one for the over use of patter though, not really my style

two things spring to mind due to the nature of the design.

you can do a coin transpo by having a second coin underneath the pound   and show how the penny is smaller than the pound then slip it between the two coin's and place them both in the specs hand.
the penny can then transpose with a coin in a pouch, matchbox etc.

secondly you could place the pound on the table and have it move or flipover useing another popular device, imagine this done under a glass after the penny swirl vanish, real spooky like.

There's a booklet you may be interested in called the scotch and soda book?, very cheap and brimming with ideas that work (mostly with a coin unique.

There is also the Amazing Magic Tricks with a Scotch & Soda DVD, less tricks and more money, but if DVDs are more your thing...

Well if that's your style, fair enough, but I would say that [mostly] patter helps to make a bad magician a good magician, or even a good magician a great magician, but each to there own. We all perform differently and that can only be a good thing :)

Thank you discoman for the flip over idea!

That is a killer finish to the swiirl, which reall gets people going anyway!

Any tips on where to conceal the device? I am seeing it strapped to my wrist for stand up. Any other ideas?

I completely agree. It's just sometimes silence works for me when something is very visual such as a coin vanish. I just look them right in the eye right after and stare followed by a shrug of the shoulders.
It is then they phone the police

I'll second the post by Bananafish as I vouth this book with my coin unique. Whilst the poor suggestions out number the decent ones, in my opinion there's still enough decent material to make the booklet worth the money.

One of the routines that I find that gets a good reaction, which is also very simple is put put a silk over a specs hand and put the £1 and penny on top of the silk. Fold the silk and then ask the spec to take hold of the corners and suspect the coin inside of the silk. You can then get the spec to move the silk & coin in a swinging or circular motion over a previosuly shown empty box or similar. The penny then appears in the box and vanishes from the silk which has been in the specs hand all along.

As said, simple but sometimes some of the strongest illusions are:
