Supreme Magic in a time capsule

Postby Salsa Jack » Jan 25th, '06, 22:15

Just a snippet which may, or may not interest those of you who mourned the passing of Bidefords Supreme Magic.

The entire stock at the point of closure, is stored in it's entirety, boxed and untouched since purchase, in a secure warehouse deep in the depths of the Welsh hinterland.

The amount of stock which is so vast that it would be beyond most peoples comprehension, also includes a mega sized pictoral archive of all things Supreme since the firms inception, including staff, customers, effects and all manner of other celluloid history.

Also included are the rights to, and completed effects that have never been released onto an unsuspecting magic community.

It makes for the fascinating thought that one day several years into the future we will once again see Supreme effects vying for shelf space in Magic stores around the World.

It would be fantastic if -one day- the time trap will be opened!
What's the reason for "no action"?

The first tricks I bought came from Supreme. I can't have been much older than around 10 when I placed my first order, which makes it getting on for 40 years ago. I remember the early catalogues were just folded single sheets with items selling for sixpence, a shilling, one and six etc... (for the youngsters here, sixpence was just two and a half pence!). Over the years I watched the catalogues grow and was a regular customer until the end. There was some pretty good gear but a lot of the stuff really was pants!

Happy days though.... EEEEHHHHHH!
