Advice and views and answers for Raven please.

Postby dave_100 » Feb 2nd, '06, 13:51

I know there are lots of raven topics, but my questions are specific, and i thought its easier to start a new topic. thanks.

Is the reset fast and possible in front of specs?

How feasible is it to do in short sleeved shirt? I am thinking of using it in: smart buttoned shirt, untucked, belted black trousers. is there an easy, slick effect i could do with these clothes?

does the raven come with everything you need to perform a vanish?

is it heavy/bulky/awkward to set up? i dont wanna be messing around ages on a set up that takes ages and is fiddly.

Any help is greatly appreciated. thanks so much!

Is the reset fast and possible in front of specs? Not really. If you use the Raven Brake then it is probably possible to reset and/or to retrive the vanished coin but it would need some pretty good cover for them not to notice it, especially if you used the regular method. However, I can't see why you'd need to...

The sleeve length has no effect on the Raven...you can do it wearing almost anything. I personally prefer the Belt Loop method - PM me if you buy it and I'll describe it to you. So yes, those clothes are perfectly good.

does the raven come with everything you need to perform a vanish? If you're in the UK most 1p and 2p coins around will work - it also comes with a shim shell nickel and a mini nickel just incase you wanted to use them. The coins can be borrowed.

To attach it to your clothes will take a few minutes depending on the method you use. Once it's on, you can just leave it there; there's no reason to have to take it off. If it's on, it takes just a second to get in position for the vanish, though it's hard to do that in front of spectators.

Any help is greatly appreciated. thanks so much!

I hope that doesn't reveal too much, please feel free to edit if it does.

New topic probably overkill, most of what you ask has been covered before...

Could be, and could be: up to your own ingenuity!

Yes, it is possible, although angle specific. As far as effects with Ravens, they are limited only by your imagination when applied to the mechanics.

And then some. But actually depends which 'kit' you buy.

Lightweight, simple to set up.

can you show your hands front and back before and after?

how bad is the angle issue using the belt loop method?

The instructions and the optional Raven Video show how to do that sort of move but it needs a bit of practice. As mentioned above, most of this is covered in previous Raven threads so you might want to plough through them as there's a lot of useful advice there!

I've owned a Raven for some time now but find very few opportunies to use it as I am an untidy swine who thinks shirt are for funerals only.
Can this belt method mentioned be the perfect solution to my underuse of the raven if not my untidy appearance?
If so could someone be so kind as to PM me this method.

Thanks
