The Business of magic..

Postby Tom Lauten » Feb 6th, '06, 15:16

This is straight from magicweek.co.uk...

"Gary Sumpter's launched a new website and would like readers to contribute. Gary emails: "I need magicians to go on and add their business cards to the gallery and make a posting or two in the forums. Hopefully the website will become a useful resource in designing and making the most out of your business card." Visit www.magicbusinesscards.co.uk for more information. "

...It looks pretty cool!

Indeed it does. Business cards are, in my opinon, a vital yet often overlooked side of magic. Certainly seeing other people's and hearing what others have found to work and not would be, I'm sure, of much use to many.

'tis a pity they need my email address before I can view the gallery.

This is one of the reasons why I use separate e-mail addresses - one for this kind of thing and another for 'proper' e-mail communications. It saves a lot of Spam at times and the address can be amended when there's more confidence in a website and the sort of stuff likely to be sent.

Malinator is the solution that I have been looking for. Excellent! the only problem is, how do we know that the people in malinator are not social engineers? The paranoid monkey on my back is whispering again ...

Does it matter? As long as you use different passwords (you do, don't you :)) for your websites it should be OK - there's a small risk that someone will read the email, but oh well.

Hi Guys,

Just to let you know, you wont be spammed by me!

I insist on having users register and confirming their email address purely to wean out those that wish to annoy and water down quality content.

In other words, it helps keep down the time wasters, nothing more.

MagicBusinessCards.co.uk is a resource. If people want to post negative and useless comments....... That's what the Cafe is for!

I hope you like the website and PLEASE be sure to register and add your thoughts and ideas.

Best regards

Gary
