Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

Also these cards are regular cards, the box over there is totally empty, the Statue of Liberty really did disappear for Copperfield, and I'm a full time babe magnet  .

This sound like a load of S.H.I.T. to me - Single Handed Inverse Trinary.

All I can add is "what a movement".

I hope that tells you why you aren't getting the answers you ask for - on TM we don't reveal how things are done as the secrets are not ours to divulge. Check through any of the online magic sites and you will find the effect you refer to probably at a very low cost but well worth the investment.

As for all that 'terminology', well, most magicians have a strange sense of humour  !!

ok joking aside an ardvark is a term to describe a device that is used in a trick.
eg:- a coin vanish might be done with an ardvark on a piece of chain.

as to the napkin vanish we cant tell you how its done its a trade secret but i can tell you that the napkin never leaves the hand even though you cant see it, a trick hand is as close as i can get without telling you and the rest of the world how its done.

this part of the forum is open to the general public so we have to be carefull what we say.

I thought this trick used the Great Useful Lapping Lock Improved By Licking Elephants Principle

I know that the intention was not to ridicule a new member, but it does rather read that way...

EDIT: Even if you exclude the previous comment.

WhereMyRiceGo, some advice. If your looking for the secret to this effect, your not going to find it here. A fundamental principle of magic is that we need to keep the methods secret. For all the magicians on this forum, learning an effect costs time and money. It would make little sense to reveal the method to anyone who asks as you would devalue the effort applied.

If you simply want to know how its done, then I would advise not to bother looking. The feeling of bemusement you have about this effect, will shatter when you find out the method. You will be disappointed, so its probably better if you just continue to enjoy the illusion.

If on the other hand you want to learn some effects to amuse your friends and family, then hang around. We can't tell you the method behind effects, but we can advise what to buy as you start out and where to buy it. Once you have the effect, the forum can help you with advice on handling and routining.

If you do hang about though, be warned; its an expensive hobby. The upside is that you will start to think acronyms are very funny. :D

man i honestly want to learn this and the reason is probly the same as most of the magicians that started, becuz the feeling of foooling sumone number 1 , and number 2 the ability to say u have magic while watching people you are showing go " holy mother lord do that again!!! :!: "

can you guys tell me where i can learn this. i dont have much money or a credit card and only paypal i really dont feel like getting ripped off anytime soon....

To be honest I wouldn't start with this effect. You'll get more bang for your buck if you get a half decent card or coin magic book.

and the common term for that would be the DAVP (Doublebacked Arrdy Vark Palm).
