Matt,

It's fair enough if you don't like something. If you can describe the things that you specifically dislike in finite and tangible terms that would be best. Try to avoid the "I hate everything about it" type of statement, it may be true but it packs less of a punch as it seems reactionary rather than a considered critisism. As Mahoney stated, using the template is a big help...it cuts to the chase as it were.

A bit of "calm and dispassionate" goes a long way towards making your point more easily absorbed. Know what I mean?

Cheers mate

Just to make sure you understand fully, comments on TM must be accurate and honest. We very much welcome personal opinion, especially where it differs from advertising blurb, but stress that any such comments have to be fair, decent and must avoid any offensive words or phrases. Those you use in your post above Matt are totaly unacceptable, even with the asterisks. Apart from that, as mentioned the posts from Tom And HT above, nobody has any idea what you're trying to say, other than you're not happy with the effect. If you would like to check and use the strutured Review template it will be more than helpful to us all. If not, I can't see much point in leaving your comments on view.

me again.......
n a sentance,
it is not workable in the real world
it relies on "all the conditions" to be perfect
this includes, humdiy, the surface you are standing on, weather etc...
now bearing this in mind, you cant use it on any type carpet material,
this is very restictive to me, and most, i would think?
sorry if my first post was offensive to anyone in anyway
to be honest i wrote it after i had shared a bottle of red with the wife, so maybe i was a bit too "emotional" at the time
i am not here to upset people on this forum, just help them if possible, and be helped when needed
so i apologise for that
anyone who wants any more info on the trick then please feel free to ask me
cheers
matt

Still not a review though :?.

Go and copy the review template then fill it in, using proper grammar, spelling, and capitalization. Then put your opinion, explaining each point. That would be a review.

Well in this instance I'm going to echo what Katriel said..

Try and use the review template when posting a review, thats why its there. It makes it a lot easier for everyone to actually read and keeps the review tidy.

Thanks

Actually, I saw the ad for this in the Feb edition of Magic magazine and the promo speak made it look awesome.

I'm glad that I read the small amount posted here but a fuller review would be much better.

I have a few questions.

What is the effect?

How much does it cost?

How hard is it to perform? (1-5)

Why did/didn't you like it?

How would you rate it? (out of 10)

...hmmm they sound a bit like the review template categories don't you think?

I'd like to start off by making it clear that I don't own this effect. Given that, how can I review it? The truth is that I can't.

What I'm attemtping to do here is to post the bits from the ad that have been asked about in this thread and to then hope that someone else can fill in the blanks.

The Effect

Taken from the ad in the Feb edition of Magic magazine.

SHOCKING by Eitan Klerer - The power to ELECTRIFY.

Shocking is the most amazing tool you will ever own. It will give you, the performer, the power to create incredible effects. It is the closest you will ever get to becomming a superhero with "real powers". Here are only a few of the things you will be able to perform:

The Static Man: You will be able to electrify your spectator by shocking him with a touch of your finger. You will also be able to control when to shock the spectator. The spectator can touch you or hold your hand - and only when YOU want it - he will jump! You hold other objects in your hand to stun your spectator at your command. Just imagine taking a key, ring, nail, or anything else - letting people hold it or touch it and nothing happens. Then you ask them to touch it again and your energy will electrify them. They will touch it an jump! Keys, rings, magic wand, nails, chains etc.,all everyday objects that you can borrow!

Telekinetic Abilities: you can move objects without touching them. Imagine that you spread pieces of paper or confetti on the table or on a plate. You then move your hands above it and nothing happens. Upon your command you move your hand above it again (without touching the objects) and the confetti will move and jump as if you bring it to life! Do the same with pieces of paper, confettie, ashes, salt, pepper, and more!

Chain of Power: You can transfer your power to your spectator! Yes, you'll make him the superhero. Your spectator will be the "static Man" moving objects with his mind or perform any of the above and more, all under your control. He will be amazed and will have no diea how it was done! There are no threads, no magnets, and no hassle, and you can perform SHOCKING in short sleeves! Don;t be deceived by cheap imitations and deceiving descriptions. This is the ORIGINAL and the REAL ONE to be used only by proessionals. Get SHocking now efore it's too late! Shocking is a Hocus Pocus Exclusive, which means you'll only find it here and nowhere else!

Cost

Only $259.95 plus shipping and handling.

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

Review

It appears from the ad and from the posts that this uses static electricity yet there is no mention of it's effects on people with a heart condition or on those who wear a pacemaker. I'd be nervous if this is the case.

http://www.hocus-pocus.com/magicshop/ contains a video clip (and no sign of the 24 volt car battery  ) and reviews from existing users who no doubt have been specially selected.

Then why don't you post more information and some views on how it has worked when you've used it?

I'm not asking for you to expose anything but some more info added to the above thread would be usefull.
