McClintock Twist

Postby rcarlsen » Feb 20th, '06, 10:07

Anyone do this version of twisting the aces, or any other card? It's very visual, and very nice, but I also fint it very angle sensitiv, and also hard to do the way it's supposed to be performed. I have problems with the pivotpoint, any suggestions?

It's a nice move, and the pivot is learned and honed by watching the exact points Reed is touching/holding the cards. Mimic this and you'll get a good start point.

Angle sensitive? This isn't really an effect I'd aim to do surrounded anyway, as the front-on audience is your goal.

Practice this one—it's a stunner. The only thing I had initial problems with is card chatter during the twists, but I found that moist fingers and more gentle movements is the key.

There's far more to this than a simple twist—it can be used fantastically as a prelude to most effects using four cards because the cards are ungimmicked.
