Not a trick, it's a color-change.
You can view its video on Elusionist site.

I said do you like the shape shifter, he said Yeah it's good, but I can't do it very well, so he handed me the pack and I did to about 5 people watching lol :D . They were all really impressed :D . Jay is a great guy by the way! It's certainly made me like penguin more. :D

This guy has released a DVD set dedicated to Colour Changes?! And he "can't do shapeshifter very well"!!!? This just highlights the shody material Penguin put out. Self proclaimed experts pumping out utter drivel.

As for the move, I think it is quite fun to perform, but in all honesty, I don't use it very often unless as a standalone colour change if somebody asks me to show them something.

arkos, yes this move would be suitable for a beginner. :)

All the best,

Will Wood

Yes it's a good change but I don't like it very much. Advantage of this change is probably is that it's much less angle sensitive. I tend to do the Ego Change more. Much more visual change IMO because it looks like you don't do anything but wave over for a split second.

The shapeshifter is a fun little change to do. Very easy and one of the foundations of the wonderful Joker's Wild trick (although thats not to say you could't replace the shapeshifter with a different change like the "erdnase" change if it was more to your taste). Such a simple effect but astonishing for any lay audience.

Stevebo, I've never heard of the Ego change. Anywhere you know that we can see it?

Sorry I might be wrong but if the shapeshifter change is what i think it is then I don't see how with a bit of practice you could perform it badly. Isn't this the really easy one?

Generally one would have to say it is pretty easy but:

Chris Tarrant Said:
It's only easy if you know the answer.

Which is true of EVERYTHING. The shapeshifter change is something I find really easy but when I started I couldn't get the technique right and I couldn't see why it was going wrong either. Since I didn't know where the problem was I had difficulty in fixing it. Thankfully I got over it though.

"I don't really like shapeshifter."

Whatever you do don't expand on that!

Why? out of interest.
