PERSONAL / BIRTHDAY EFFECT

Postby tracematt » Mar 1st, '06, 09:41

Hi!
I'm after an effect, that could be personalised in some way to make it special,
or involve leaving a "souviner" for the birthday person
it will be for a strolling / party type venue, for a male 40th b'day
many thanks for your time and help in advance!

Set up a trick you would normally do with any superfluous cards reading "Happy 40th Birthday". Or, use NFW have these cards instead of aces at the end.

i generally go for one of those tricks where the card a person selects turns to the only red card in a blue deck. then make it be the only one that had Happy Birthday Whoever written on the back too. then make some joke about it being a "birthday" card. wahey!
or buy black hole and produce a birthday cake, as if from nowhere!

On that tack, why don't you have a sealed birthday card with a prediction inside. You could even apply a paperclipped handling to this type of setup.

or a signed card to wallet type effect. but signed card to sealed birthday card. that would be fantastic. pretend you've lost their card then hand them their card, only to find their signed playing card inside.
right, now i know what I'm doing for my next birthday effect
fantastic!

Cool!

EDIT: The handling on this could be tricky, as you need to rip open the envelope. Should still be doable with a little prep though; simply precut an opening for your thumb on one side.

They have envelopes with a sticky strip on them - so you could just have it set to load the card, then simply fold it over and it seals itself.
