Playing Tricks Bowling Trick

Postby Pyro Ellvelin » Mar 9th, '06, 21:50

Im not sure if anyone has seen this, but ill try and explain what happens. Well basically, im sure most of you know the show PlayingTricks. Well basically i saw Loki perform an amazing trick. What happend was he picked up an invisible bowling ball and with it, he bowled a strike . i was thinking, how???!??!? lol Im sure a gimmick is used ( sleight of hand is cancelled out by process of elimination duh! lol ) . One of my reasons for this is that when the pins are knocked down, the machine doesnt pick them back up, kinda fishy if you ask me. Well if anyone knows how this effect could be achieved, i was wondering if they could send me a link or product information, greatly appreciated :D

surely your not thinking you could perform this? You'd need a few friends at the alley put it that way.

surely you could do it with an extra powerful PK kit? ;)

friends at the back end of the alley sounds quite likely...

PK could work but may pull the gantry along with the pins

hahaha, that was funny.
well i wouldnt cancel out help from friends as sometimes the PLaying Tricks Crew use one and other during effects. I asked around and some came to the conclusion of blow driers as the pins fell quiet slowly, which may cancel out IT
AND PK, that is highly unlikely, it would have to be very, very strong, walking around with such a powerful device would probably knock out watches and pacemakers :? also wouldnt that mean the pins would have to be shimmed?.......OOOOKKKKKK then new post people WHERE CAN I FIND SHIMMED PINS

mmm - I'm rather stumped here as I can't tell from your response if you're taking our suggestions a little too seriously. :?

hehe, try the mega-bertha on http://www.nothingupmysleeve.co.uk/ :D It probably works even on non magnetic things ;)
I've no idea how powerful that thing is, but you may find yourself permanently attached to the ball dispenser (and there's a phrase I never thought I'd say ).

Definitely easier just to befriend the guys who work at the end of the alley. Sellotape a few fivers onto the balls you're using for a few frames, that ought to get their attention.

I bowl in 2 leagues and know exactly how he did it. You can’t do it. So forget it.

Incidentally I have done it and rather than being impressed I was reported to the league chairman as they felt I would be able to do it any time I want and cheat. I had to point out that if that was true then surely I wouldn’t be floating around 140/150 average with a 32 handicap! It was discussed in the annual meeting before the start of league and it was decided that if I revealed the method I could stay! I agreed to reveal the method to the league chairman only on the basis he wouldn’t tell anyone else but by the following week the whole league knew.

By the way, the IT idea wasn’t as far away as you might think (though it wasn't that close either)
