Morgan Strebler's Liquid Metal

Postby Dominick » Mar 12th, '06, 18:26

Hey guys. I have been looking at this and SPUN which is another trick by Morgan Strebler. I was wondering if Liquid Metal was all that good? You can find it at: http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=891
If anyone has SPUN could you go ahead tell me about that too

Thanks,
Dominick

There are a number of reviews about Liquid Metal - just use the search function. Personally (and there are many who would disagree with me) I find liquid metal quite embarrasing to watch. It's not that good and you'd do far better getting hold of Banachek's Psuchokinetic silverware. Banachek has years mre experience, you get a solid routine, but more than that he teaches much of the psychology behind metal bending.

Why do you find it embarrasing?

If performed well then from experience Liquid Metal can blow an audience away (sounds as if I'm blowing my own trumpet I know).

Although I don;t do LM as much now, it's always been a favourite of the specs and I still get regular requests to do it.

If you're not well practiced then you can get caught quite easily with LM but there again this can go for most tricks.

I think that's the major objection I have with LM - in that metal bending is more than a trick - but that's something that's been debated to death so I won't start again

Hmm - hard one to answer without offending people. Let's say I don't like his style..

Interesting...Any particular reason why? Is the method badly taught? Or...?

Thanks,

I think what Taneous is trying to say is that metal bending is usually performed as a pshycokinetic type of effect, a little like Uri Geller whilst Strebler performs his metal bending as a trick and nothing more, although some of the same techniques are deployed.

I also think that there is a difference between skill and style. Morgan may have skill but he doesn't necessarily have style.

If you get the opportunity to see Morgan perform this live, you will LOVE it.

I saw it 5 or 6 times up close at Blackpool, AMAZING stuff!

AMAZING!
