Help with an iframe... Please!

Postby ace of kev » Mar 23rd, '06, 17:12

I have made a new design of my site using photoshop and dreamweaver, and I have used an iframe for the main content.

But I have a problem.

When viewed in Firefox, the images that I sliced are set off by 5mm, and it looks totally c*** (not the best), but when viewed in IE, it looks fine.

Is there a piece of code or something that I can put in to make it work properly, or does anybody have any other suggestions.

All help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Kev...

Why use an iFrame?

Currently, there's a huge amount of grief with IE and Mozilla browsers.

I've been working hard on my own solutions for margin & border differences etc.

The only suggestion I have is to turn autoscroll off for the iFrame. Some browsers offset items to allow for a scrollbar.

The other way is to create some CSS code as a class or ID for the iFrame which will set it's margins and padding absolutely.

But, to be honest, I find iframes a pain in the bum. They are one step away from the dreaded framset frame system.

Much nicer, more controllable and elegant to learn CSS and use DIVs as containers ;)

I was going to type lots of stuff , then I realised that I could do it without an iFrame using CSS. Theres a tutorial on how to do it the way I want on the site I visit frequently to learn new stuff to do with photoshop

By the way...it's IE that's doing it wrong :). Even if it looks the way it's supposed to in IE, the correct rendering of the page will be in Firefox. It's one of the problems with having 90% of web users using an non-standards-compliant browser.
