accents in magic...

Postby IAIN » Mar 28th, '06, 13:08

it seems a shame that not many magicians with regional accents (from the UK) get on the box really...

the daniels/sadowitz/two of the fellas from Monkey-Magic are the only ones i can think of...the rest seem to be your standardised southern kind of accent...

..though i used to love David Berglas's voice...classy gentleman...

i would of loved it if Brian Blessed was a magician, imagine his rich fruity voice booming out all over the place during his patter; and he could hide some cards in his beard...

with regards to your comment about Brian Blessed.. try and watch some stuff with Eugene Berger who also has a great voice for performances.. (you could hide the entire USPCC inside his beard!)

Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music. - Kristian Wilson, Nintendo, Inc, 1989..

i like Lennart Green's accent, especially when he says 'pinkie' in his dvds...i find that quite endearing...that and the whole slightly eccentric but phenominal effects...

ah beards in magic...is there a poll somewhere to find the percentage of bearded magicians/mentalists? i've had mine in one shape or another since i was 19...

i wonder if anyone's shaved a revelation into theirs? hmmm...hair magic...that could be an interesting concept...

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Speaking of accents, I know he's dropped his false one now, but the rather splendid Geoffrey Durham is back on Countdown this week.
