BULLET CATCH 22 by Sparks Magic

'The most dangerous trick in the world'!
Holding a lit match to the primer end of a bullet it fires and you catch the slug between your teeth.

Cost

Around about £20

Difficulty
about a 2/3 out of 5 (some moderate sleights)

Review

Bleeding marvelous and ideal for close up. I brought this a few weeks ago and have now performed it a few times to a very good response. The bullet is thoroughly examinable and the whole effect is very convincing. It does require some sleights but a bit of practice and you'll soon get them. You will need to provide a couple of inexpensive items for the effect, one of which is a book of matches (suddenly surprisingly difficult to get hold of in my area, curse those lighters)! On the whole I REALLY like it and it has joined my bicycles as a 'don't leave home without item'.
I do have two concerns :
Firstly being a muddle-head I am bound to lose vital parts of the trick as these are very small (eg. bullet size).
Secondly I walked into a nightclub the other night with it in my pocket and although I didn't get searched I'm sure they wouldn't be too chuffed if they found a 'live round' in my possession!!
Thirdly I keep having trouble with the matches as I find that matches from books tend to blow out quicker, before I'm ready and I have to relight a few times!

Rating
A Flashy thumbs up!!
9/10

Yes its a very powerful trick with a very easy slight
But whats your beef with the matchbook. I use a regular
disposable lighter. I just have it set up in a tight pocket and
bingo. Ok so I am a smoker and usually make sure my regular
lighter matches the prepared one

Thanks for your suggestion. I'd thought about switching for a lighter, just hadn't got round to playing with it yet (thinking a zippo might do the job nicely). The point I was making however was to do with the presentation that is sold with the effect and not a 'beef', rather an observation.
The fact that you've exchanged the book of matches for a lighter is a credit to your ingenuity but if I've had trouble with the suggested presentation it at least merits mentioning in a review, don't you think?

Thats a fair comment.
I actually never used the match book as I thought it
would look odd in the pub pulling out a book when my lighter
was on the table next to me fags
