Hello all.

Some of you have already posted replies to my request for recommendations for an 8-year old. Thank you.

I figured I should probably introduce myself. I really have no experience with magic, but I do twist balloons and enjoy a crowd of kids. I have twisted balloons as part of children's sermons at our church and thought that perhaps I might be able to add a magic trick or two.

Mostly I am looking into someting for my son who expressed interest in magic when we went to a Houdini shop in Las Vegas. I live in California, so I expect that I am about eight hours behind most of you.

The community here seems very helpful and very respectful. Thank you for your patience and all your help so far.

Hi and welcome to TM

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Welcome to TM, Sleet! I am sure you will like it here!

You should have a talk to MagicTom, I believe he does some magic for church groups. I think Change Bags with a few silks will allow you to do several effects that kids enjoy and does not require any sleight of hand. Also magicdiscoman recently did a nice review on the comedy egg-can which seems to be a nice prop for kid’s shows: http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic11722.php
