guys, thanks for your kind words.
As much as getting this off my chest somehow so I didn't have one more thing racking my brain, I wanted you all to be made aware or possibly just reminded of being "drunk by association". Just because your friend is a muppet it doesn't necessarilt make you one, far less with a complete stranger who approached you. They had an unruly guest before I had even stepped foot in the pub!
dat, I know I was surprised at him to be honest. It was his bropther and he kept saying you gotta see things his way, but no I stuck to my guns. I understand why he couldn't say anything there, but a simple "look, he really wasn't drunk and was actually doing you guys a favour by keeping her out of trouble until you plucked up the balls to throw her out!" to his brother the next day over a cup of tea wouldn't have caused any family grievance.
As for grounds for prosectution, sadly you are probably right although not legally. As a seasoned pro pedant, I am well aware that you do not even need to make contact to commit an assault. Sure you knew this....threat of action is enough. As I said, I was heading for the door when attacked.
Cheers for the name of the SUBJECT ACCESS REQUEST FORM. I knew that they could charge no more than a tenner if they have recorded video that has your image on it and legally had to supply this, i just couldnt remember how to go about it.
Pcwizme, it is a brewery run pub, or at least a large chain. It is for this reason that the name of the pub has not been told. That letter, I think I am decided, will be heading straight to the managing director of the *****'s pub chain. I am not messing about with low rankers here.
As for putting this down to experience, I am sorely tempted, however have had much worse than this done to me in the past, and was in fact put on crutches for 3 months once for no reason by door staff (thrown down stairs and beaten to ****). I had been standing on the stair well for air as the air conditioning was not up to par and met with a bouncer having a bad day. Then, like now the police did nothing as they always side with the door no matter how well known they are for attacking guests.
Enough is enough.
They are much better regulated than they once were, however, this often just means that they can cite the correct sections from the correct acts of parliment before delivering an unprovoked attack.
Byron, as for the local paper, you're going to love this.....I work for them and we prdouce about 15 papers that cover much of North London. Time for a wee chat with editorial methinks. They're always after trying to fill the rag with more than just ads!
I did consider the surprising route of free show etc that you mention, however, I do not believe they will take to this. They do not seem very reasonable, which is a shame as it would save them much embarrasment in the long run should I seek to take this further. Also, although sometimes it can be prudent in the right situation to do so even when in the right, I have nothing to apologise for and would not. I am owed one, I shall not be giving one.
This aside, I was in town again last night. Still barred from said pub, but was in another doing the odd trick here and there till 2am and then stood with a busker outside till 4. We got quite busy! That was fun to say the least, the electric riffs brought them over and I blew them away again with a few choice effects. My main observation from last night was that while the drunk are an occupational hazard, Watford could well do with a few less coke heads.
And yes, if ecko reads this....DFL did surface a number of times

I love showing that one as much as the specs enjoy seeing it!
Oh well, screw 'em if they can't take a joke I say.
gotta keep smilin' eh
