Ok...

Why, because I love it

Perform, I don't really

Achieve, Join magic circle one day

Thats the nutshell version :D

Magic is real, just look around you, some of the most amazing things have no reason, no explanation but are very real.

Why do you do magic? I find it entertaining myself and it gives me something to do!
Why perform it? Well, i've only performed a couple of tricks, but I personally like the "WHAT THE FUDGE JUST HAPPENED?! THATS IMPOSSIBLE" look on peoples faces.. and i'd like to use it to impress the ladies too
And when you do, what do you hope to achieve? I dont do it yet but I hope to be able to entertain friends and family.. and strangers! But more importantly, myself. I dont go out to pubs or bars. I dont drink alcohol or smoke or do drugs.. I'm pretty boring to be honest! However, if I had magic abilities, I'd probably go out more with friends and instead of being bored, I could entertain myself with magic.. and then possibly entertain others in the process.

I recently got started out of curiosity, firstly to learn and because i like to be challenged. Now with my first child due any day, I would love to teach him / her not to believe all they see, and pass on an interest.

I don’t perform, but I do show new tricks to friends in the pup, they are the hardest to control as they tend to watch very closely and unless slapped, try to grap. This makes practice even more important.

All told, I love it.

Why do you do magic?
To learn something unusual and secret...something hush-hush will always have a shiney-gloss to it won't it...i have a love of the unusual too...

plus alot of the magicians i like have beards! Apart from Mr. Sadowitz, but he is a different type of wicked creature...

Why perform it and hope to achieve?
It's good to forget about reality every now and again and go on some kind of journey with others...kinda like directing a film in some ways, you get to say when the surprises and shocks happen, the impossible becomes possible...

and an emotional togetherness that you can feel with the people you're with too is a very touching and a bonding experience...i dont perform for masses of people, only dinner party sized...i like the whole "we're in this together" feeling...

...oh and red wine and cigars that i get handed to me too...very nice...

mostly i do magic to amuse myself, keep my brain ticking over and to indulge my creativity. Its my playtime and a chance for me to retreat and enjoy my own company. I used to do stuff to show off at a pub i worked in but thats phase has gone. I rarely perform now.

in the future id like to join the magic circle and continue developing the ideas i have for new tricks. Maybe even get something published someday

That's easy for me. It's all about chasing and riding the fear I felt the first time I asked someone if I could show them a magic trick.

It was only a one ahead and I was sure he'd figure it out immediately, but it had a really strong effect and the buzz was amazing. I felt so good about it I actually felt quite guilty.

I think that's perhaps why I sometimes like to come up with foolhardy mental effects that can genuinely fail - without the safety net of an out. It's that "riding the fear" thing.
