Define FREE...

Tell you what, why not pop over to Introductions and tell us a little bit about yourself, your magic, etc.

When I used to noodle about in a back bedroom home studio a few years ago, I used to buy sample CDs full of loops, beats, riffs and stuff to put together my own music on my Yamaha A3000 sampler. It's all royalty free or cleared for use. The likes of Future Music also have a cover disk with teasers for upcoming sample CDs that you're allowed to use. hardware samplers are wicked expensive, but you can get hold of free music making software on cover disks too. Just add ideas.

Well, you might get a CD with a magazine with some tracks on it, and in that sense they ARE free, but to play them back to a public audience would be ILLEGAL.

Royalty-free tracks are ones where you don't have to pay to use them.

Goto Creative Commons and search through the audio. This is a fantastic resource and you can find some outstanding bands and music here. Infact there are some real gems and if your lucky you may find a band before they go mainstream. I did!

You are to be congratulated for respecting the creative works of others, your a dying breed.
