Hello it's me Mahoney! Yes I've been around here for a while now but I never posted an introduciton when I first arrived, so I am going to do it now if that's ok, just so that you can know a bit more about me

I have always had a keen interest in magic but I always felt restricted in being able to learn what I called 'proper' magic. By porper magic I meant magic of a professional standard. I got lots of tricks for christmas and stuff as a child but I was never satisfied that the quality was up to scratch. One Christmas, not too long ago actually, I got Nicolas Einhorn's Practical Encyclopedia of Magic (I must ahve been 15 or 16 or something). This to me was 'proper' magic, and I spent lots of time learning things from the book but I put it away for a few years and forgot about it. It wasn't till about March or April 2005 that I found it again. "Oh yeah this was a great book" I thought, so I went though it again, going through the card section which I had previously, only skimmed over, and this time studied it properly.
I then had a bright idea

Magic is awesome!

Without the interenet it is very hard to get into magic. The internet has opened magic up as a possibility to many more people. Sure, some of this is for the worse, but I am very grateful. Of course, I only wish I had started earlier on. I should have joined a magic club.
