question.. is this guy mad or somthing?

Postby skYrth » Jul 6th, '06, 17:04

as i was reading a trick "Up and Down Force" it's saying how a spec. cuts the deck and at the end of the trick, your supposed to guess the guys card by "reading his mind" so to speak, well I thought that the author was talking about force shuffling (of corse..) and at the end of the trick, all it says is "Gradually read his mind." and this it's on to the next trick! Did I miss somthing?

Thanks in advance,
~mathieu

You may need to edit you post as it is telling everyone who reads it the instructions to a trick and this is exposure and is on allowed on TM. Its not a good idea to post the full set of instructions.

Magic is real, just look around you, some of the most amazing things have no reason, no explanation but are very real.

Top tip: You must NEVER reveal magical secrets where the muggles might see or hear them

A PM would probably be the best way to go about doing this.

Thanks for editing it. I hope someone who owns the trick might be able to help you. If you read the forum rules section you will see the outline of the rules of the forum. Always a good thing to read.

All the best
Alex

Hi Mathieu

So the trick is called "The Up/Down Force?" Who is it by and what book/dvd is it in?

Does the trick explain to you how to force a card? is that where your problem is, or is your problem not knowing what to do after th ecard has been forced?

it's in a book called "101 Amazing Card Tricks" by Bob Lounge. I've noticed some more tricks are kind of like that.. like the very first part of the book it's talking about the Hindu Shuffle, but it doesn't tell you how to do it at all, he just says it's really important to learn..

I do not reccomend this book at all. I just got it from a friend who was gitting rid of a bunch of junk before he moved..

as for the other questions, it doesn't talk about a forcing it. It just tells you how to do the trick, and in part of it you say "I will now attempt a feat of telepathy" and at the end it literally states "Gradually Read his mind."

I have this book and I've just read up on this trick - any questions feel free to PM me as I think that this trick is quite neat and will fool alot of laymen

As for the Hindu Shuffle - it explains it in quite some detail on pages 7 - 10 8)

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??
