ok, let me introduce you to madv - he's an " illusionist " ( he doesnt like them being called tricks - there illusions lol )
As for as entertainment value goes he's pretty cool, one or two of his vids are camera tricks unfortunatly ( although its amazing how many people have fallen for them ) but the ones that arnt are really well performed. I only mention him cos his time on youtube has paid of and he's now been signed to a US tv station.
So if your interested, check out some of his vids at

Not bad, not bad at all!
And Mini, I thought you were going right back to the start and learning from the beginning again! Be patient, learn the basics first, and good stuff will come to you

what he does is illusions
and there is no basics for these
like I'm practicing the basics of cards and coins
not of illusions
illusions got no basics

you don't necessarily need to go back to the start again just practise the tricks you know until you can do them perfectly.
I disagree when you say you don't need to practise illusions of course you do to make sure they don't go wrong.

No I didn't say I don't need to practise illusions
but illusions don't have a book of basics
like every illusion is diffrent than the other

yeah but once you learn to do small magic tricks and get a hang of the basics you can apply it to bigger illusions.

yep, the basic principles are the same - just executed differently and on different scales.

I see what you're saying. A lot of illusions stand alone as independent works. You have to get a unique technique right each time, but if you have the basics of card and coin magic you can pick up new card and coin tricks a lot easier than having to start again each time. That makes a lot of sense.
