Just start with the revelation you want to achieve and work backwards to the setup.

"I want to come up with a trick" is kind of broad don't you think?
First think on what you want to do, make a card appear? Vanish a silk? Cut a lady into 2 1/2 pieces?
Then come up with a method you know that can do it, or come up with a new one of your own.
And then build the performance around the trick.

BTW I'm from Israel too, cheers mate.

I didn't ask them to give me it
I'm just looking for effects that there is no method for

Mini, if you can turn a coin into a hippo, that would be spiffing :D

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

I wonder if there's scope for a piece of software that has a set of elements for revelations and when you press a button comes out with a never-ending stream of combinations? A bit like an anagram generator.

YOU want to come up with an origional trick, using someone elses idea?

Doesn't that sound a contradiction?

I have got one idea for you, which I will include a method for.

STOP TRYING TO ALWAYS HAVE THE LATEST THING AND TRY TO LEARN THE BASICS.

I believe you have recently posted a thread about doing just that.

EDIT, Just found that post, it's called "starting over" where you tell people to give you the name of books or DVD's to learn from.
No please, not a question, just a demand.

METHOD.

Read books, watch DVD's, practice.

People give advice here freely, but you seem to keep asking about the latest fad, which makes me wonder if you have listened to anybody anyway.

Sorry to sound harsh, but try to learn some things for yourself, so you can give something back to others.

Without the basics you won't have the knowledge and understanding to become a creative magician.

Do you suppose that Michael Schumacker jumped stright into a formula 1 car? No. He worked at it.

I'm sorry but each time that you make a post like this you lose a little more respect.

Yup. He stated on go-carts and is also a trained mechanic.

I respect my self
my friends respect me
and so does my family
All these are enough
don't need more respect
Right now I'm not a profesional magician
and I'm trying to do my best
when I go pro! Ill look for other magicians respect (gona happen)

A lot of magicians want to come up with new tricks but remember how many magicians are in the world and inventing new tricks every day. Also remember to produce a trick you need to have a sound knowledge of the workings behind it and a wide range of general magical knowledge maybe you should try and concentrate on your slights and perfecting what you know before you try to create a new trick. By all means have a mess about with ideas but keep them as your own till you are 110% sure they are unique, worth looking at and near on perfect.
Good Luck

Magic is real, just look around you, some of the most amazing things have no reason, no explanation but are very real.

I do not want to get in a heated discussion but I don't think you can just post this and expect the rest of the people here to just give you ideas.
In my opinion you should do something with the advice given here and you shouldn't reply with things like

because it sounds kind of rude.

I can understand that for some reason...

As much as I would love to do big massive illusions like criss angel does I know that you have to have the basics under your belt so thats why I'm practising a lot of little tricks in books to understand the basics then when you get bigger you can apply that to a much larger scale but I agree with the others that you can't expect to create a trick until you understand the basics then you can use your own imagination to make a really impressive trick.

There isn't a quick fix to learning magic (or anything else for that matter whether its learning to drive or playing guitar - both of which I do) it takes time and dedication and from reading some of your posts here MMF it sounds as those you have the dedication and drive and thats good but you seem to want to do the hardest tricks without bothering to understand the basics and you can't expect to run before you can walk.
