Jay Sankey's "Immaculate Deceptions" Lecture Notes

Immaculate Deceptions

The Effects
(Taken From Sankeymagic.com)

THE ALMOST HUMAN CANNON BALL
One of my all-time favorite effects for restaurants and bars. A signed paper wrapper from a drinking straw travels from one hand to the other in a flash of fire! Super magic (and embarrassingly easy to do!)

SHADOWLANDS
A totally surreal stand-up effect with a flash light and a large envelope where two extra fingers visually grow from the silhouette of your hand! Talk about packing flat and playing big! You can make the gimmicks in less than 30 minutes and the reset is INSTANT!

BEST BEFORE
The small plastic "best before date" tag on a bag of bread is sent back in time with mind-blowing results!

THE CHOCOLATE BAR PREDICTION
I haven't performed at children's birthday parties for years, but "back in the day" I floored kids with this one all the time. A simple, direct mental effect for children that ends with a chocolate bar giveaway! Tasty!

BIT BY BIT
This insanely visual card effect make their eyes POP every time! A spectator's signature melts to the top of the pack, one piece at a time! The ideal addition to almost any Ambitious Card routine!

HYPERSENSITIVE
You will perform this completely impromptu mentalist effect with a few borrowed coins ALL THE TIME! And you are going to LOVE the "clean-up!" Another ridiculously easy fryer.

CONTENTS MAY SETTLE
The perfect ending to any card magic demonstration! I've performed this very theatrical and utterly mystifying routine for years!

REMARKERABLE
Just imagine, one magic marker is quickly split into two markers, then three! Crazy visual! Perfect for the walkaround or stand-up performer. It looks like real magic!

BURDEN OF PROOF
You can't beat this non-card, non-coin opener. A twist-tie (twisted by the SPECTATOR!) impossibly links onto your finger ring. And yes, everything can be examined!

AIR OF MYSTERY
Everyone likes popping the bubbles of those plastic sheets of packing material, right? So what would be better than causing a handful of them to REFILL WITH AIR in the spectator's own hand? Nuthin, that's what!

TRANSFUSION
Strange and beautiful. A single double-backed card is magically split to reveal two previously selected cards!

DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH
A bullet-proof professional routine combining magic and mentalism. Perform it close-up or stand-up. Either way it makes for a memorable revelation! I've closed shows with this many, many times!

Cost
Free!

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

I would say ranges from a 2-3...perhaps even a 4 every now and again.

Review
Sankey's done it again, but this time for free! Wow, folks. All I can say is that these effects are just perfect. He has supplied effects that can be done at children's parties, house gatherings, and even at grocery stores! These effects are simple, yet so powerful. They amaze, freak out, and confuse the spectators all at the same time! I'm a fan of Sankey's work, but these simple effects really stand out from what I own by him. And the part that amazes me, is that he's just giving them away. If I were to give you one bit of advice it would be this, GET THESE NOTES! The effects are explained thoroughly as are the set-up and the routine itself! He even supplies a bit of patter for them!

Overall

Overall I think everyone who is interested needs to get them. They are free, what more could you ask for? But they are only free until July 31st, so get them quickly!

Quality Of Effects: 9/10
WOW Factor: 9/10
Overall: 9/10

Nice review, thanks for that. I downloaded me a set and there are some very nice pieces indeed. Typical Sankey, simple yet visual and impossible.

I'll describe this with one word: WOW!

I can't believe he's giving these away for free! I just looked over my copy and I'm shocked at how completely simple yet outstanding the effects are. This has to be one of the most well written and perfect notes I've ever read. Please, DOWNLOAD A COPY NOW! If you don't before the end of July, you'll have to pay $20!!!

That's not the effect of Air of Mystery.

On the lecture notes they say that it's something to do with eggs, and no magic filling with air. Otherwise I like these notes but I haven't read air of mystery yet so forgive me if I've made a mistake.
