Are we not confusing demands with a foreign use of English here?

ok, maybe it wasnt the best thing to start a topic on - but a simple answer along the lines of for it to be original you'l have to come up with it yourself ( which cardza probably said fairly ) surely would have been enough. giving him abuse cos of it - despite your opinion of him - will only make this forum look bad.

Amen brother! I think mini's posts are quite funny but only because he's like "I want this I want that blah blah blah" and now he's asking for help with coming up with tricks  Some people just want everything handed to them on a plate!

OK, NOW IT'S MY TURN

Mini...

I have to be frank here (although that wasn't the name I was christened with)...

You've demonstrated 3 things here in the past month, and to be blunt:

1. You cannot take criticism
2. You have no creativity
3. Magic probably isn't the best way you could have chosen to express yourself

Bluntly, your magic lacks confidence, as does your general attitude. In fact, your magic also lacks inspiration—although it ALWAYS generates an entertaining thread, unfortunately at your expense as we're normally laughing AT you not WITH you.

Your lack of creativity (highlighted by this thread) and general feeling the need to fit in and get respect isn't what a communal forum is there to give. OK, so the language barrier aside, if there is one at all, you are able to communicate. But I fear that your general direction of approach to this forum is somewhere where you're trying desparately to fit in, but don't seem to make the grade.

Perhaps you're trying too hard.

Or perhaps you're not trying hard enough in the right way.

Almost every post you start on here attracts mockery, but in fairness to you, you stand your ground and pick yourself up. That's admirable.

The humour in this country is mixed—but we're quite sarcastic, ironic and generally off-the-rails in our approach to comedy. And although this isn't a great help to receive what you may perceive as 'mockery', we're all just here to enjoy ourselves.

Your contributions thus far to magic on this forum perhaps suggest that magic isn't your strongest point. Perhaps you should consider being a stand up comedian. Your magic aptitude leaves a lot to be desired, and studying books on basic technique and performance would teach you a lot, and get you further on the road to being what you want to be.

Back to your request at the start of this thread... you're looking for someone to give you ideas?

Well, as suggested, I would seriously ask you to perhaps sit back and take a look at how you want your magic hobby to go. Do you want to be famous? Do you want to be a professional magician?

If so, could I suggest to you that you DO read more books, you DO study the 'masters', and until such a point as you understand a bit more about what magic really is and it's place in the entertainment world, I would also suggest you perhaps slow down and put your energy into self-teaching.

You're simply not ready at all to be a magician at the moment, and unfortunately, until that time comes—it could be months, or years—you are always going to attract criticism and comedy.

And the fact that you 'bite back' doesn't help.

If you insist on contributing, THINK before you SUBMIT. Get in the community spirit, and stop trying to run before you can crawl. We're a friendly bunch, but your rather smothering nature and inability (it would seem) to moderate your OWN posts before you post them is what is seemingly getting you the reactions which you're displeased with.

As you requested in you PM to me earlier, I will lock this thread.

You see... all you have to do is ask.
