educational escape dvd

Postby David The Cryptic » Jul 12th, '06, 16:13

I am in the process of producing an educational escape dvd. I want to hear what people want to learn. I already have a list of things to put in the dvd, but I wont post it for now. I just want to hear what you all want to see on a dvd or dvd series.
what would you like to see. what would make you want to buy it?
and be serious.

thanks

*gaffing regulated handcuffs
*shim picking handcuffs
*gaffing old school handcuffs (Houdini style, the ones with the spring lock, I don't remember how they are called)
*lock picking
*gaffing chains
*rope tying escapes
*fake rope knots and ties
*regulated strait jacket escaping
*gaffing a strait jacket for faster escapes
*under water maneuvering for escaping (will be kinda hard to make, but people will buy the DVD just for that)
*100 ft rope tie to chair escape
*mail bag escaping
*crate escaping
*wine barrel escaping
*sub-trunk (more of an illusion but still..)
*acting in escaping (like in the 100 ft rope)
*priority making in high risk or multi-leveled escapes
*ways to gain publicity
*places to buy equipment (can also be a way for you to make some money on the side through sponsors)

Just what came to my head, but I think more or less that's the basics that need to be in any escapology DVD.

I don't see in that list any thing that involves chains, that's a really big part of escapology and shouldn't be over looked (especially chain gaffing) sometimes it's easier to escape by using methods that involve the chain instead of the lock on it.
Also you could add a bit about performing escapes underwater, especially when it comes to chains and cuffs escapes.

On ropes you can add gaff ropes (magnets, clip buttons) and more importantly escapes that involve the usage of rope not on the body of the escapist but on the thing he is locked in ( like in mail bag escape, the whole rope holding method, etc.)

Also I would suggest you to address the subject of getting ideas for grand escapes, and the right way of choosing the right methods for them.

I would arrange the volumes in this way: one that will consist on rope related escapes (I really would suggest you to involve the mail bag escape as I said before), one that will consist on cuffs and chains related escapes, and one that will consist on strait jackets and crate escaping.

Hope I helped,
good luck.

yes it helps. i am still working on everything. so it might be a little longer. if at all. there is a chance i might not be able to continue.

p.s. i wont put water escapes on here due to insurance and liability. water escapes are to dangerous. i myself have only perform two water escapes.
